Hi Everyone!
Welcome to my blog. I am so happy you are here. Here is a little bit about myself: I am a student at Boston University majoring in psychology and minoring in Deaf studies. I am a dedicated sister to my two siblings and two puppies. I am writing this blog in the hopes of spreading awareness for Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and associated co-morbidities. Often people are fooled by my fairly 'normal' appearance, but what's happening inside me tells a very different story. Here I will share some of my day-to-day struggles and how I live life despite a host of limitations.
Tales of an Uncooperative Shoulder
My left shoulder and scapula are unstable. You might ask, "What does this mean?" Essentially, my humorous (upper arm bone) had a fight with my scapula (shoulder blade) and so my shoulder dislocates regularly and uncontrollably. As a result, my capsule is very stretched out and thin, and my labrums are practically non-existent. The dislocations and pain progressively worsened from October 2016- January 2017 and so I was put in a half body Spica cast. Feel free to read on if you're interested.
